Beaches
The best beaches in Cascais for families with kids
Praia da Rainha
A tiny, beautiful beach right in the center of Cascais. It's sheltered from the wind and the water is calm, perfect for little ones. There's a small stairway down to the sand and it feels like a secret cove!
Praia da Conceição
The practical everyday beach in Cascais. Bigger than Rainha, calmer than Guincho, with lifeguards, showers, a couple of bars, and an actual ramp down to the sand if you have a stroller or a beach wagon. This is the beach most local families use the most — big enough to find space even in summer, sheltered enough for small kids, and close to everything.
Praia da Duquesa
Essentially Conceição's neighbour — the same stretch of sand divided by some rocks. Same calm water, same lifeguards, same vibe. A bit less crowded because people default to Conceição first. Good option when the main beach is packed and you want a quieter patch of sand with kids.
Praia de São Pedro do Estoril
A local favourite that most tourists miss. Wider and quieter than the Cascais centre beaches, with a natural rock pool area that's perfect for toddlers — shallow, warm, and sheltered. The beach has a large car park, a couple of restaurants right on the sand, and a playground nearby. Less polished than Conceição but more space and a more relaxed local vibe.
