Parks & Playgrounds
Green spaces and playgrounds to run around and have fun
Parque Marechal Carmona
The most popular park in Cascais! It has a huge playground, ducks and roosters walking around, a little cafe, and lots of shady spots for picnics. Kids can spend hours here.
Paredão (Cascais–Estoril Promenade)
The 3km seafront promenade connecting Cascais to Estoril. Flat, wide, and with the Atlantic on one side and benches every fifty metres. Perfect for scooters, balance bikes, and strollers. Halfway along there's a playground at Estoril and a Häagen-Dazs for strategic bribery. One of the best free family activities in Cascais — works for all ages and all weather except heavy rain.
Parque da Gandarinha
A quieter park right next to Casa das Histórias Paula Rego. Less famous than Marechal Carmona but has a decent playground, shaded paths, and a nice lawn area for picnics. Good option when Carmona is too crowded on weekends. The combination of park + museum next door makes for a solid half-day outing.
Cresmina Dunes
A protected dune system between Cascais and Guincho with a boardwalk nature trail. Kids love climbing the dunes and spotting lizards. The walk is about 30-45 minutes and ends with views over Guincho beach. Not suitable for strollers on the sand sections but the boardwalk part works. A great alternative to the beach when you want nature without getting wet.
